the japan science and technology agency [osaka university] developed a child-sized android that mimics the physical behavior of a 1 or 2 year-old toddler.
the 1.3 meter tall, 33-kilogram humanoid robot has optical, auditory and 200 tactile sensors. over 50 air-powered actuators inside its body enable the robot to make complex movements smoothly. it is planned to develop the robot to an intellectual level of a 3 year old child within 4 years.
