Adrian Bowyer's RepRap

dr. adrian bowyer from the university of bath, uk explains his reprap project at pop!tech 2007 [techcalendar - event]. reprap is an inexpensive self-replicating 3d rapid prototyping robot designed to print out all of its own parts and the parts you want. what it can't print for self-reproduction are inexpensive objects like screws and cheap motors that can be found at affordable prices around the world. the printer can be fed with polylactic acid, derived from starch from e.g. home-grown corn or sugarcane.
